This antibody shows 87% sequence homology with ovine and 82% with rabbit.
Suggested positive control: antigen standard for PTGDS (transient overexpression lysate), human brain protein.
Target Information
PTGDS encodes a glutathione-independent prostaglandin D synthase that catalyzes the conversion of PGH2 to PGD2.
PGD2 acts as a neuromodulator and trophic factor in the central nervous system, influences smooth muscle contraction and platelet aggregation, and contributes to the integrity of blood-brain and related barriers.
PTGDS is abundant in cerebrospinal fluid and may function as a β-amyloid chaperone, potentially involved in Alzheimer’s disease pathology.
Research indicates roles in CNS maturation, maintenance, and regulation of non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep.
