Product Specific Information
This 19.2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD206, known as the macrophage mannose receptor (MMR). CD206 is expressed on macrophages and dendritic cells, as well as non-immune cells such as hepatic and lymphatic epithelia and kidney mesangial cells.
It binds glycoproteins terminating in D-mannose, L-fucose, or N-acetylglucosamine and participates in antigen processing, cell migration, and intracellular signaling.
CD206 plays a key role in phagocytosis of pathogens like Candida albicans, Leishmania, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated for flow cytometry of GM-CSF-stimulated human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Excitation: 488–561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Laser: Blue, Green, Yellow-Green.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
CD206 (MSR, Mannose receptor, MRC1) is a 175 kDa transmembrane protein belonging to pattern recognition receptors. It is expressed in tissue macrophages, dendritic cells, endothelial cells, and sperm cells, playing roles in innate and adaptive immunity.
CD206 mediates recognition and uptake of macromolecules including modified lipoproteins, AGEs, and amyloid β-protein. It is implicated in atherosclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease pathology.
Three isoforms (type 1, 2, 3) are generated by alternative splicing; types 1 and 2 are functional, while type 3 acts as a dominant negative regulator.
CD206 dysfunction is associated with diseases such as leprosy and Gaucher’s Disease.
