Product Specific Information
Specificity: Recognizes murine GPI-anchored protein Ly6G, a marker of granulocyte differentiation and maturation, and a component of the Granulocyte Receptor-1 Antigen (Gr-1) along with Ly6C. Unlike clone RB6-8C5, 1A8 does not bind Ly6C.
Target Information
Ly6G (Lymphocyte antigen 6 complex locus G6D) is part of the myeloid differentiation antigen Gr-1 complex with Ly6C. The Ly6G protein (21–25 kDa) is expressed by myeloid-derived cells in bone marrow and serves as a marker for peripheral neutrophils, monocytes, and granulocytes. Expression of Gr-1 correlates with granulocyte differentiation and maturation. Although the physiological role of Ly6G remains unclear, studies indicate its involvement in anti-tumor responses and suggest that Ly6G ligation may inhibit local immune responses.
