Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Paraoxonase-1 (PON1) is a calcium-dependent ester hydrolase associated with apoA-I in HDL and prevents LDL oxidation. PON1 polymorphisms are linked to coronary artery disease. PON1 activity is reduced in individuals with atherosclerosis-prone conditions such as diabetes, familial hypercholesterolemia, and renal disease.
PON2 is an intracellular protein that protects against oxidative damage, while PON3 shares functional similarities with PON1 but differs in substrate specificity. PON1 and PON3 are implicated in reducing the risk of coronary artery disease and atherosclerosis.
Human PON3 protein contains three conserved cysteine residues found in PON1, suggesting their importance in enzymatic activity. PON1-based catalytic scavengers may offer safe and effective protection against organophosphate intoxication.
