Target Information
DNA-dependent RNA polymerases catalyze the transcription of DNA into RNA using ribonucleoside triphosphates as substrates. POLR2F is a common component of RNA polymerases I, II, and III, which synthesize ribosomal RNA precursors, mRNA precursors, and various non-coding RNAs such as 5S rRNA and tRNAs. In RNA polymerase II, POLR2F (also known as RPB6) forms part of the clamp element and, together with RPB1 and RPB2, creates a pocket that binds the RPB4-RPB7 subcomplex.
