Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IL-4. Anti-Human IL-4-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human IL-4 matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human IL-4 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human IL-4 (500-P24Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human IL-4.

Western Blot:
To detect Human IL-4 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human IL-4 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic, immune-modulatory cytokine produced by activated T cells and serves as a ligand for the interleukin 4 receptor. IL-4 has broad biological functions, and its receptor also binds to IL-13, contributing to overlapping cytokine functions. STAT6 plays a key role in mediating IL-4’s immune regulatory signals. The IL-4 gene, along with IL-3, IL-5, IL-13, and CSF2, forms a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q. IL-4 is located close to IL-13, and these genes are co-regulated by several long-range elements over a 120 kb region. IL-4 delta 2 is a known splice variant of IL-4.
