Product Specific Information
- Reconstitute in 150 µL of sterile water.
- Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
- The antigen is homologous in human, rat, and marmoset.
- Specificity: SUMO1.
Target Information
SUMO1 is an ubiquitin-like protein that can be covalently attached to proteins as a monomer or a lysine-linked polymer. Attachment requires activation by the E1 complex (SAE1-SAE2) and linkage to the E2 enzyme (UBE2I), and can be promoted by E3 ligases such as PIAS1-4, RANBP2, or CBX4.
This modification plays a critical role in cellular processes including nuclear transport, DNA replication and repair, mitosis, and signal transduction.
SUMO1 is involved in targeting RANGAP1 to the nuclear pore complex protein RANBP2. Polymeric SUMO1 chains can be polyubiquitinated, signaling proteasomal degradation.
SUMO1 may also regulate genes involved in palate development, and mutations can lead to non-syndromic orofacial cleft 10.
