Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human HB-EGF. Anti-Human HB-EGF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human HB-EGF matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human HB-EGF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required.
This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Rabbit Anti-Human HB-EGF (500-P329BT) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 2000–4000 pg/mL of Recombinant Human HB-EGF.

Western Blot:
To detect Human HB-EGF by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL.
When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human HB-EGF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

HBEGF is a growth factor that mediates its effects via EGFR, ERBB2, and ERBB4.
It is required for normal cardiac valve formation and heart function.
HBEGF promotes smooth muscle cell proliferation and may be involved in macrophage-mediated cellular proliferation.
It is mitogenic for fibroblasts but not endothelial cells, binds EGFR with higher affinity than EGF, and acts as a diphtheria toxin receptor.
