Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IFN-beta. Anti-Human IFN-beta-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human IFN-beta by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human IFN-beta (500-P32B) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human IFN-beta.
Western Blot:
To detect Human IFN-beta by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human IFN-beta is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Type I Interferons (IFN-alpha/beta) are produced primarily in response to viral infection by natural IFN-producing cells (IPCs) as part of the host immune response. IFNs can also inhibit tumor development. IFN-beta binding activates tyrosine kinases Jak1 and Tyk2, leading to phosphorylation of STAT family transcription factors and induction of immune response genes. Members of the toll-like receptor (TLR) family also stimulate IFN-beta production. Clinically, IFN-beta is used for treatment of tumors, infections, and multiple sclerosis.
