Target Information
TCF21 (also known as Pod1, capsulin, or epicardin) is a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor involved in kidney, lung, and spleen organogenesis. It plays a crucial role in normal development of the testes and ovaries and is involved in transcriptional repression of steroidogenic factor 1 (Sf1/Nr5a1/Ad4BP), which regulates genes mediating sexual differentiation.
