The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human HDAC3 (amino acids 224–428) expressed in E. coli.
MA5-15442 detects HDAC3, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 48.8 kDa.

Target Information

Histones play a critical role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and developmental events.
Histone acetylation/deacetylation alters chromosome structure and affects transcription factor access to DNA.
HDAC3 belongs to the histone deacetylase/acuc/apha family, possesses histone deacetylase activity, and represses transcription when tethered to a promoter.
It may regulate transcription through binding with the zinc-finger transcription factor YY1 and can down-regulate p53 function, thereby modulating cell growth and apoptosis.
This gene is regarded as a potential tumor suppressor gene.
