The CITED1 gene encodes a member of the CREB-binding protein/p300-interacting transactivator with Asp/Glu-rich C-terminal domain (CITED) family.
Also known as melanocyte-specific gene 1, this protein may act as a transcriptional coactivator and play a role in melanocyte pigmentation.
Alternative splicing variants have been reported.
