Target Information
Alpha-actinin-3 (ACTN3) is a skeletal muscle isoform of alpha-actinin, encoded by the ACTN3 gene. It functions as a structural component of the sarcomeric Z line and crosslinks actin-containing thin filaments. This protein is primarily expressed in skeletal muscle. An allelic polymorphism in ACTN3 results in both coding and non-coding variants; the reference genome represents the coding allele.
