Product Specific Information

The 390 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD31 (PECAM-1), a 130–140 kDa surface protein expressed by endothelial cells and at low levels on leukocytes and platelets.
CD31 plays roles in adhesion, cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, and signal transduction.

Each product contains:

• 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assessment.
• CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining.
  • Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails before combining with cells.
  • For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

NovaFluor Conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology, engineered for reduced spillover and improved spectral separation.

Note: Internal testing shows NovaFluor Yellow 610 may non-specifically stain B cells in SJL mice.
Non-specific staining not observed in BALB/c or C57BL/6 strains.

Target Information

CD31 (PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor regulating T and B cell signaling via ITIM motifs, providing docking sites for protein-tyrosine phosphatases upon phosphorylation.
It is expressed throughout the vascular system, mainly at cell junctions, and mediates homophilic binding critical for cell-cell interaction.
