NDUFA9 (NADH dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] 1 alpha subcomplex subunit 9, mitochondrial), also known as NDUFS2L or CI-39kD, belongs to the complex I NDUFA9 subunit family.
It plays a role in stabilizing the junction between membrane and matrix arms of complex I, a late assembly step critical for complex I biogenesis and activity.
