Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Anti-AKT2 antibody is directed against human AKT2. The antibody detects both unphosphorylated and phosphorylated forms of the protein. Cross-reactivity with AKT2 from other species has not been determined; however, the immunogen sequence shows 88% identity to mouse and 90% identity with rat, suggesting expected cross-reactivity.
Target Information
AKT2 is a phosphoinositide-dependent serine/threonine protein kinase enriched in insulin-responsive tissues and implicated in metabolic actions of insulin. It functions in multiple cellular signaling pathways and acts as a transducer for growth factor receptor signals activating PI3K. AKT2 is known to be amplified and overexpressed in certain human cancers.
