Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. Restore with deionized water (or equivalent). For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Expiration date is one year from date of restoration.
Anti-AKT2 antibody is directed against human AKT2 and detects both unphosphorylated and phosphorylated forms. Cross-reactivity with AKT2 from other species has not been determined, but based on sequence similarity (88% to mouse, 90% to rat), cross-reactivity is expected.
Target Information
AKT2 is a phosphoinositide-dependent serine/threonine protein kinase enriched in insulin-responsive tissues. It plays a key role in metabolic actions of insulin and various cellular signaling pathways mediated by PI3-kinase. AKT2 is amplified and overexpressed in some human cancers.
