Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only immediately before use.
Anti-AKT2 antibody specifically detects human AKT2, recognizing both phosphorylated and unphosphorylated forms. Cross-reactivity with AKT2 from other species has not been fully determined, but the immunogen sequence shares 88% identity with mouse and 90% with rat, suggesting expected cross-reactivity.
Target Information
AKT2 is a phosphoinositide-dependent serine/threonine kinase enriched in insulin-responsive tissues and implicated in metabolic actions of insulin. It mediates multiple signaling pathways downstream of growth factor receptors activating PI 3-kinase. AKT2 is amplified and overexpressed in certain human cancers.
