Product Specific Information

This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, mouse, and rat based on sequence homology.
Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as a ~150 kDa band, and upon reduction generates a ~25 kDa light chain band and a ~50 kDa heavy chain.

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information

Hexokinase (HK) catalyzes the phosphorylation of glucose to glucose-6-phosphate, the first step of glycolysis. There are four major isoenzymes: HK1, HK2, HK3, and HK4.
HK2 is predominantly expressed in insulin-responsive tissues such as skeletal muscle and is insulin-regulated. Studies in rats suggest HK2 contributes to enhanced glycolysis in rapidly growing cancer cells.
