This antibody is predicted to react with mouse based on sequence homology.
Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as approximately 150 kDa band and upon reduction generates a ~25 kDa light chain and a ~50 kDa heavy chain.

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B cell maturation. The protein acts as an endogenous pyrogen that can induce fever in autoimmune diseases or infections.
It is mainly expressed at sites of acute and chronic inflammation, secreted into serum, and triggers inflammatory responses via the interleukin 6 receptor alpha.

IL-6 function is implicated in various inflammation-associated diseases, including diabetes mellitus susceptibility and systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Elevated IL-6 levels are found in viral infections, including COVID-19 (caused by SARS-CoV-2). Diseases associated with IL6 include Kaposi Sarcoma and Systemic Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.
