Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with Rhesus monkey, mouse, rat, bovine, chicken, and zebrafish based on sequence homology.
Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as a ~150 kDa band and upon reduction generates a ~25 kDa light chain band and a ~50 kDa heavy chain.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select the best candidates.

Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the translation repressor protein family. The protein interacts directly with eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E), a limiting component of the complex that recruits 40S ribosomal subunits to the 5′ end of mRNAs.
Interaction with eIF4E inhibits complex assembly and represses translation. The protein is phosphorylated in response to signals such as UV irradiation and insulin, leading to its dissociation from eIF4E and activation of mRNA translation.
