- In Western blot applications, this antibody detects a band at approximately 33 kDa.
- Suggested positive control: Raji cell lysate.

Target Information
The inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) family of proteins regulates programmed cell death triggered by various stimuli. All IAPs have at least one baculovirus IAP repeat (BIR) motif essential for anti-apoptotic activity.
Livin (also known as ML-IAP) is a human IAP family member containing a single BIR domain and a C-terminal RING finger domain.
Livin gene has two splice variants (298 and 280 amino acids), both containing BIR and RING domains. Both isoforms inhibit TNFα-induced apoptosis in Jurkat cells.
Livin expression is low in adult tissues but higher in developmental tissues and many cancer cells.
