Target Information
TLK1 (Tousled-like kinase 1) is a nuclear serine/threonine kinase involved in chromatin assembly regulation.
Originally described in Arabidopsis, TLK1 is a novel target of the DNA damage checkpoint, rapidly inactivated upon exposure to ionizing radiation.
Its suppression after DNA double-strand breaks, replication blockade, or UV irradiation requires ATM, NBS, and CHK1.
These kinases play key roles in maintaining genomic stability during DNA replication and repair.
