Product Specific Information

Target Information

CtIP (CtBP-Interacting Protein) is a 125 kDa protein originally identified through its interaction with the transcriptional repressor CtBP via the PLDLS motif, suggesting a role in transcription regulation.
It also interacts with BRCA1 through the BRCT domains at the C-terminus, indicating potential tumor suppressor function.
The CtIP–BRCA1 interaction can be disrupted by DNA-damaging agents such as UV or gamma irradiation.
ATM kinase phosphorylates CtIP at serine residues 664 and 745, and mutation of these sites prevents BRCA1 dissociation from CtIP, leading to sustained repression of BRCA1-dependent GADD45 induction after ionizing radiation (Li et al., Nature 406, 210–215, 2000).
