Target Information
CX3CR1 is a chemokine receptor required as a coreceptor for HIV infection. Human, mouse, and rat CX3CR1 genes were cloned and designated V28, CMKBRL1, and RBS11, respectively. The encoded seven-transmembrane protein acts as the receptor for fractalkine and was renamed CX3CR1. It mediates leukocyte migration and adhesion and is expressed in various human tissues and cell lines.
