Product Specific Information

1 µg/mL of MA5-45422 was sufficient for detection of Nav1.7 in 10 µg of HEK-293 cell lysate transiently expressing Nav1.7 by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 230 kDa. No cross-reactivity against other Nav channels.

Target Information

Epithelial sodium channels are amiloride-sensitive members of the Degenerin/epithelial sodium channel (Deg/ENaC) superfamily of ion channels. Members of this superfamily share organizational similarity with two short intracellular termini, two membrane-spanning segments, and a large extracellular loop with a conserved cysteine-rich region. ENaC isoforms (alpha, beta, gamma) are expressed in kidney, lung, and colon, playing essential roles in sodium and fluid balance. ENaC mediates aldosterone-dependent sodium reabsorption in the distal nephron, regulating blood pressure. It interacts with CFTR chloride channels. Gain-of-function mutations in beta or gamma ENaC can cause Liddle’s syndrome, while loss-of-function mutations in alpha or beta ENaC lead to pseudohypoaldosteronism (PHA-1).
