Product Specific Information

1 µg/mL of MA5-45420 was sufficient for detection of Nav1.7 in 10 µg of HEK-293 cell lysate transiently expressing Nav1.7 by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 230 kDa. No cross-reactivity against other Nav channels.

Target Information

Epithelial sodium channels are amiloride-sensitive members of the Degenerin/epithelial sodium channel (Deg/ENaC) superfamily of ion channels. Members of this superfamily share structural similarities, including two short intracellular termini, two transmembrane segments, and a large extracellular loop with conserved cysteine-rich regions.
ENaC isoforms (α, β, γ) are expressed in kidney, lung, and colon, playing key roles in sodium and fluid balance. They mediate aldosterone-dependent sodium reabsorption in the distal nephron, influencing blood pressure regulation.
Gain-of-function mutations in β- or γ-ENaC can cause Liddle’s syndrome (hypertension), while loss-of-function mutations in α- or β-ENaC lead to pseudohypoaldosteronism (PHA-1).
