This antibody detects endogenous levels of total GPM6A protein.
Target Information
Neuronal membrane glycoprotein M6-a is encoded by the GPM6A gene in humans. It is involved in neuronal differentiation, including differentiation and migration of neuronal stem cells. Plays a role in neuronal plasticity and is involved in neurite and filopodia outgrowth, filopodia motility, and possibly synapse formation.
GPM6A-induced filopodia formation involves MAPK and Src signaling pathways. It may participate in neuronal NGF-dependent Ca²⁺ influx and regulate endocytosis and intracellular trafficking of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), enhancing internalization and recycling of the mu-type opioid receptor.
