Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine IL-2. Anti-Murine IL-2-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Murine IL-2 matrix.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Murine IL-2 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Murine IL-2 (500-P111Bt) as a detection antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine IL-2.
Western Blot:
To detect Murine IL-2 by Western blot analysis, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Murine IL-2 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Target Information
Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immuno-modulatory cytokine important for proliferation of activated T cells, differentiation of B cells, natural killer cells, monocytes, and macrophages. IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is shared by IL-4 and IL-7. Expression of the IL-2 gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, representing a unique regulatory mechanism. Disruption of IL-2-like genes in mice leads to ulcerative colitis-like disease, indicating its essential role in immune response to antigenic stimuli.
