Target Information
BCL-2는 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 조절하는 핵심 단백질로, 세포 사멸을 억제하거나 촉진하는 역할을 합니다. BCL-2 패밀리 단백질은 이합체를 형성하여 세포사멸을 조절하며, 예를 들어 Bag1은 BCL-2와 이합체를 형성하여 항세포사멸 효과를 강화합니다. Bax와 Bak 단백질은 미토콘드리아에서 cytochrome c 방출을 유도하여 apoptosis를 개시하는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다.
BCL-2의 지속적 발현(예: BCL2 유전자가 면역글로불린 중쇄 유전자 자리로 전위될 경우)은 여포성 림프종의 원인으로 알려져 있습니다. 대부분의 여포성 림프종에서는 BCL-2 알파 단백질이 높은 수준으로 발현되지만, 정상 또는 과형성의 배중심은 음성입니다. 두 가지 전사 변이체가 존재하며, C-말단 부위가 다릅니다. BCL-2의 과발현은 B세포 림프종 및 전립선암 등 다양한 인간 암과 관련이 있습니다.
