Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of CD19 (B4), a 95 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein (immunoglobulin superfamily) expressed on B lymphocytes and follicular dendritic cells; it is lost on plasma cells.
Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and has two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells and is also found on certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 functions as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and plays a key role in B cell activation and proliferation. Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression can cause B cell hyperactivity.
