Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse IL-17 R and recombinant human IL-17 R is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
A number of cytokines belonging to the interleukin (IL)-17 family have been identified, including IL-17B, IL-17C, and IL-17E.
IL-17 is a potent proinflammatory cytokine involved in diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and tumor growth promotion.
IL-17B, C, and E induce proinflammatory responses but do not bind to the IL-17 receptor, suggesting existence of additional IL-17R-related receptors.
Receptors for IL-17B and IL-17E have been designated EV127 (mouse) and IL-17Rh1 (human), respectively.
IL-17E activates NF-κB pathway and induces IL-8 production. IL-17Rh1 mRNA is highly expressed in kidney and liver, moderately in small intestine, colon, and brain.
