Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, approximately 50% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse ADAM8 is observed.
- Less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant human ADAM12, ADAM19, and ADAM33.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
The ADAM8 gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. These membrane-anchored proteins are structurally related to snake venom disintegrins and are involved in various biological processes such as cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis.
This protein may play a role in cell adhesion during neurodegeneration and is thought to be associated with allergic respiratory diseases, including asthma.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
