Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for Mouse SIGNR1/CD209b.
Target Information
SIGNR1 is a type II transmembrane C-type lectin identified as a mouse homologue of human DC-SIGN. It is highly expressed in splenic marginal zone macrophages and lymph node medullary macrophages, where it mediates uptake of dextran polysaccharides, including the capsular polysaccharide of Streptococcus pneumoniae.
SIGNR1 physically associates with TLR4/MD2, playing a role in LPS recognition. SIGNR1-deficient mice show defects in complement component C3 catabolism, and SIGNR1 binds directly to complement C1 subcomponent C1q to assemble a non-conventional C3 convertase.
