Target Information
Thromboxane synthase는 cytochrome P450 superfamily에 속하는 효소를 암호화하는 유전자로, 약물 대사 및 콜레스테롤, 스테로이드, 기타 지질 합성에 관여하는 monooxygenase 반응을 촉매합니다. 이 단백질은 prostaglandin H2를 thromboxane A2로 전환시키며, thromboxane A2는 강력한 혈관수축제이자 혈소판 응집 유도체입니다. 해당 효소는 지혈, 심혈관 질환, 뇌졸중 등 다양한 병리적 과정에 관여합니다. 또한, 다양한 isoform을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사 변이체가 보고되었습니다.
