This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, goat, non-human primate, mouse, and rat based on sequence homology.

Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They comprise multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, and the consistency of recombinant production.

Functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies, they recognize multiple epitopes and provide higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets. Each lot is produced with a defined mixture of light and heavy chains, eliminating biological variability seen in traditional polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information

Ribosomes catalyze protein synthesis and consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit, composed of 4 RNA species and about 80 distinct proteins.
This gene encodes a cytoplasmic ribosomal protein that is part of the 40S subunit and belongs to the S6E family. It is a major substrate for ribosomal protein kinases, with five C-terminal serine residues phosphorylated by various kinases.

Phosphorylation is induced by stimuli such as growth factors, tumor-promoting agents, and mitogens, while dephosphorylation occurs during growth arrest. The protein may regulate cell growth and proliferation through selective translation of specific mRNA classes.
Multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene exist throughout the genome.
