Product Specific Information

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Target Information

This receptor is controlled by G proteins. Inward rectifier potassium channels preferentially allow potassium to flow into the cell rather than out. Their voltage dependence is regulated by extracellular potassium concentration; as external potassium increases, the channel opening voltage shifts positively. Inward rectification is mainly due to blockage of outward current by internal magnesium and can be inhibited by extracellular barium.
KCNJ11 is a subunit of ATP-sensitive potassium channels (KATP), forming cardiac and smooth muscle-type KATP channels with ABCC9. KCNJ11 forms the channel pore, while ABCC9 is required for activation and regulation.
