Target Information
CD186 (CXCR6) is a G protein-coupled chemokine receptor known as one of the cellular receptors for HIV and SIV.
CD186 is expressed by NKT cells, various activated and memory T cell subsets, and some plasma cells.
Mouse liver NK cells express CD186, whereas naïve or splenic NK cells do not.
Its ligand, CXCL16, is expressed by macrophages, dendritic cells, and liver endothelial cells.
Due to high expression on NKT cells, CD186 serves as a proxy marker for this subset.
