Target Information
SIRT3는 효모 Sir2 단백질과 상동성을 가진 sirtuin 단백질 패밀리의 구성원으로, sirtuin core domain을 특징으로 하며 네 개의 클래스 중 클래스 I에 속합니다. 인간 sirtuin의 기능은 완전히 규명되지 않았으나, 효모 sirtuin은 유전자 발현의 후성적 침묵화(epigenetic gene silencing) 및 rDNA 재조합 억제에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 연구 결과, 인간 SIRT 단백질은 세포 내 조절 단백질로서 mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase 활성을 가질 가능성이 제시되고 있습니다.
