Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of CD26, a 110 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein. CD26 is a peptidase expressed on mature thymocytes, activated T cells, B cells, NK cells, and macrophages.
Target Information
CD26 (Dipeptidyl Peptidase IV, DPP IV) is a homodimeric serine protease belonging to the prolyl oligopeptidase family. It is expressed on lymphocytes and upregulated during T-cell activation. CD26 is also found on activated B cells, NK cells, and epithelial tissues.
CD26 participates in:
- T-cell activation and signal transduction
- Cell adhesion with extracellular matrix proteins (e.g., fibronectin, collagen)
- HIV infection mechanisms
Alterations in CD26 activity are associated with malignant transformation, rheumatoid arthritis, and systemic lupus erythematosus. Increased enzymatic activity correlates with tumor grade and severity.
