Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with CD24, a 35–45 kDa heavily glycosylated cell surface antigen.
CD24 is expressed by granulocytes, B lymphocytes, and some activated T cells and T cell malignancies.
It is not expressed on human thymocytes.
Target Information
CD24 is a two-chain glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored glycoprotein expressed at multiple stages of B-cell development, from the bone marrow pro-B-cell stage to mature surface Ig-positive B-cells.
Plasma cell expression is very low or negative.
CD24 is also expressed on most B-lineage acute lymphoblastic leukemias, B-cell CCLs, and B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas.
It may play a role in regulation of B-cell proliferation, maturation, and control of autoimmunity.
