Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with TRAIL-R3, a 35 kDa GPI-anchored extracellular membrane protein expressed mainly on neutrophils.
Target Information
TRAIL-R3 (CD263) is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptor contains an extracellular TRAIL-binding domain and a transmembrane domain, but no cytoplasmic death domain. It does not induce apoptosis and functions as an antagonistic receptor that protects cells from TRAIL-induced apoptosis. The gene is p53-regulated and DNA damage-inducible, expressed in many normal tissues but not in most cancer cell lines, potentially explaining the selective sensitivity of cancer cells to TRAIL-induced apoptosis.
