Product Specific Information

The 104 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD45 molecule, the leukocyte common antigen (LCA) in CD45.2-expressing mouse strains. These include C57BL/6, BALB/c, C58, DBA/1, DBA/2, C3H/He, CBA, 129, A, and AKR. CD45.2 is expressed by all leukocytes in these strains.

Target Information

CD45.2 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising about 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It regulates Src-family kinases and is crucial in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling. CD45.2 has multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions. These isoforms vary by cell type and physiological state, influencing membrane localization and signal transduction. CD45.2 also promotes cell survival and participates in integrin-mediated signaling and apoptosis regulation. CD45RA is an isoform with restricted expression among lymphoid subtypes.
