Target Information
Serum response factor (SRF) is a transcription factor that binds to the serum response element (SRE), a sequence mediating the transient response of many cellular genes to growth stimulation. SRF-binding sites also serve as constitutive promoter elements in many muscle-specific promoters. SRF is required for cardiac differentiation and maturation.
