This antibody detects endogenous levels of Zyxin only when phosphorylated at Tyr316.

Target Information

Zyxin is involved in focal adhesions, which are actin-rich structures that enable cells to adhere to the extracellular matrix and serve as sites for signal transduction complex assembly. It is a zinc-binding phosphoprotein concentrated at focal adhesions and along the actin cytoskeleton. Zyxin contains an N-terminal proline-rich domain and three LIM domains in its C-terminal region. The proline-rich domain interacts with SH3 domain-containing proteins, while the LIM domains facilitate protein-protein interactions. Zyxin may act as a messenger mediating adhesion-stimulated changes in gene expression and modulating actin bundle organization. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform.
