RIPK3는 serine/threonine 단백질 키나제 계열의 receptor-interacting protein (RIP) 패밀리 구성원으로, 다른 RIP 단백질과 구별되는 C-말단 도메인을 포함합니다. 주로 세포질에 존재하며, 미토콘드리아에 공위치하며 핵 내외 수송 신호에 따라 이동할 수 있습니다. RIPK3는 TNF 수용체 I 신호 복합체의 구성요소로, 세포사멸을 유도하고 NF-kappaB 전사인자를 약하게 활성화시킬 수 있습니다. Caspase-8은 RIPK3 의존적 괴사를 억제하며, CFLAR과의 활성 복합체를 통해 보호 기능을 수행합니다.
