Target Information
CACNG8 regulates the trafficking and gating properties of AMPA-selective glutamate receptors (AMPARs). It promotes receptor targeting to the cell membrane and synapses, modulates gating properties by slowing activation, deactivation, and desensitization rates, and mediates resensitization. It does not show subunit-specific AMPA receptor regulation and stabilizes the calcium channel in an inactivated (closed) state.
