Description:
The 16B1 antibody reacts with human CD144 (VE-cadherin, cadherin-5), a calcium-dependent adhesion molecule involved in homophilic cell interactions. VE-cadherin (~140 kDa) is localized at endothelial cell junctions and plays roles in vascular permeability and remodeling.
Applications Reported:
Validated for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested on Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVEC). Use at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Excitation/Emission: 488 nm / 519 nm
Laser: Blue Laser
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered
Target Information
VE-cadherin is a calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein located on chromosome 16. It contains five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail. It mediates homophilic adhesion and contributes to endothelial junction organization. An alternative splice variant has been described.
