Product Specific Information
MA1-10892 detects 90 kDa Hsp90 beta in all reactive species except chicken, where it detects both alpha and beta isoforms.
It has been successfully used in Western blot and immunohistochemistry procedures.
By Western blot, MA1-10892 is specific for the ~90 kDa Heat Shock Protein 90.
The immunogen is purified human Hsp90 beta.
Target Information
Heat shock proteins (HSP) are expressed in response to various biological stresses, including heat.
HSP90 is a 90 kDa protein induced under stress conditions but also abundant under non-stress conditions.
HSP90 proteins are highly conserved molecular chaperones involved in:
- Signal transduction
- Protein folding and degradation
- Morphologic evolution
HSP90 associates with cochaperones and helps fold newly synthesized proteins or refold denatured proteins after stress.
It interacts with intracellular proteins such as steroid receptors, actin, tubulin, aryl hydrocarbon receptor, and kinases.
