Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Prolactin (PRL) is a pituitary hormone involved in milk production, salt and water regulation, growth, development, and reproduction. PRL acts through a signal transduction pathway initiated by binding to the transmembrane prolactin receptor (PRLR), a member of the cytokine receptor family. PRLR exists in multiple forms (short and long) depending on tissue and species, with molecular weights ranging from ~40 to 100 kDa. It consists of three domains: an extracellular region with five cysteines containing the prolactin binding site, a single transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic region influencing ligand binding and cellular function.
